Course Description

This course is available to IBEW 424 members who are eligible for Education Benefits.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

This course will familiarize the student with the substation/utility environment with a focus on basic knowledge and skills required to work safely and be productive. The function and requirements of a range of equipment and procedures, are reviewed, with emphasis on Ground Grids and Personal Protective Grounding, to prepare you to take a call under the Outside Agreement and become indentured as a Power System Electrician.

Participant Requirement

Basic PPE: Protective Footwear (Steel Toed Boots), Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Long Sleeved Shirt, Long Pants and Hard Hat
