PACT Program for Apprentices
THE PACT PROGRAM is a course designed to achieve two basic goals. The first being that the starter coming in is exposed to the type of work that is involved with the electrical trade. In a twelve week period, twelve students are put through:
- Electrical safety
- First-aid
- CSTS
- E.S.T.S
- Fall Protection
- Aerial Work Platform
- Hands on work experience
- First year Electrical Curriculum
- Arc Flash
With the work experience the studens learn:
- residential and commercial wiring methods
- basic circuitry
- E.M.T conduit bending and installation
- tray and cable installation
- basic motor control
After the 12 week progam has completed the students write their First Year Apprenticeship exam with the Alberta Apprenticeship Board.This Exam is administered by an A.I.T respresentative.
By putting a starter though all of these courses we are trying to achieve our second goal:
Supplying the Union Contractor with reliable, productive, competent and safe employees
