This is a 16 hour course with a maximum of 8 Students per session.

A certificate will be issued upon successful completion.

The student will gain knowledge of solid state motor control specifically related to Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) through a balanced combination of lecture, open discussions and hands on labs.

The course focuses on the following points.

  • Motor control options and why you would use them
  • What is a VFD and how does it work
  • Major components of a VFD
  • VFD’s applications
  • Wiring, control and operational concepts
  • Programming through hands on Labs
  • Basic commissioning and start-up
  • Installation considerations

At the end of this course, you will be able to complete a VFD start-up and do minor program changes.
