Confined Space


The objective of this four-hour course is to give participants an introduction to the hazards associated with entering confined spaces. A further objective is to ensure that students demonstrate basic understanding of the methods of controlling these risks.
The topics covered in this course are:
•    Regulations and responsibilities for confined space entry
•    Confined space definition
•    Confined space hazards, especially atmospheric hazards
•    Classification of confined space entries
•    Control of hazards
•    Qualification and training of workers
•    Emergency response plans
The HSE Integrated Confined Space Entry Course is approved by the Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA).
Prerequisite:              None
Duration:                    4 hours
Participation:             Minimum 8; maximum 20
Certification:              HSE certificate

In order to be reimbursed for the Confined Space you must be an eligible beneficiary and in good standing with the IBEW Local Union 424. Complete the form below for reimbursement and submit it to the Electrical Industry Education Trust Fund of Alberta Administrative staff prior to the commencement of your training. Upon successful completion EITCA requires a copy of your receipt showing payment and certificate showing completion.
